When you are first arrested, you are typically taken to a correctional facility, processed, booked and then wait in jail until your arraignment before a judge. The judge will then explain the charges against you and depending on the seriousness of the accused offense set a bail amount as the judge sees fit. However, there are crimes that fall within what they call the Bail Schedule. The Bail Schedule is a pre-set bail bond amount for various types of offenses.
